Open doors chemical site Leuna

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 10 AM to 4 PM, the Leuna Chemical Park will open its doors to interested visitors. The 13th Open Day is once again organized by infraLeuna with the support of the City of Leuna, the Leuna Housing Association GmbH, and numerous companies. Visitors, prospective apprentices, and students will have the opportunity to connect and exchange ideas with companies based in the Chemical Park. 13th Open Day on September 7, 2024, with City and Tenant Festival in Leuna - Infraleuna

Highlights at LEUNA-Harze GmbH LEUNA-Harze GmbH is once again participating in this year's Open Day. As a leading manufacturer of epoxy resins in Europe, the company will present an informative booth where visitors can gain comprehensive insights into the product world and applications of the resins. Knowledgeable staff will be available to answer questions and explain the various uses of epoxy resins. Additionally, interested students and prospective apprentices can learn about the training professions of Laboratory Technician and Chemical Technician, which are offered by LEUNA-Harze GmbH this year and next year.

Guided Bus Tours to Production Sites LEUNA-Harze GmbH will also offer bus tours to the company’s internal premises. The 30-45 minute tours will start at 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM, allowing this year’s visitors to see the hardener plant and the quality control laboratory. Participants must wear sturdy footwear and be at least 14 years old. Each bus tour is limited to 20 people per round.

In the hardener plant, visitors will learn how various hardener products for epoxy resins are manufactured and processed by LEUNA-Harze GmbH. Hardeners play a crucial role in the curing process and the final properties of epoxy resins. Additionally, the roles of Plant Operator and Chemical Technician will be introduced.

In the quality control laboratory, the testing procedures and tests used to ensure the products of LEUNA-Harze GmbH meet the required quality standards will be presented. The lab tour will also offer insight into the workflows of a Chemical Laboratory Technician.

The Open Day is an ideal opportunity for families, students, career starters, and all technology enthusiasts to experience the chemical industry firsthand. Food and refreshments will be provided, and there will be numerous activities and information booths making the visit worthwhile.
