WE INVEST IN SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability for LEUNA-Harze GmbH means, among other things, reorienting away from petroleum-based to renewable raw materials. This approach is modelled on the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework. A sustainable alternative has been available for many resins and reactive diluents since 2021, complementing the existing variants of our products.

The so-called G-variants are produced in a special process involving the use of renewable raw materials, so that the final products contain a carbon fraction from renewable raw materials. This means that CO2 emissions can be significant-ly reduced before and during the production process when compared with previous products.

The products of the G-series are identical to previous products in terms of their physical and chemical properties and can thus be used in existing formulations, therefore prevent-ing additional work and costs for the customer while imme-diately reducing the CO2 footprint.

The amount of bio-based carbon in the products has been analyzed by an independent laboratory by means of the radiocarbon 14C method and can be guaranteed due to our separate production lines.
